It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything resembling a wedding overview – actually the last time we posted a proper wedding blog post was Paralee & Aaron’s wedding back in JULY! So… basically it’s almost been a year since we covered any of the weddings we’ve been photographing. Yeah. That seems like a long time. But we’ve been busy.
With Zombies! And Flying! And performances in our house! And THREE INTERNSHIP SEASONS! (Nine, X, and now [Gold Lion]) Of course – we’re also making Wedding Home Movies too.
Because we love photographing weddings – but come on now – if I only photographed weddings, I’d go crazy and cry a lot and then I’d just sit at home with our cats, and eat Chinese food while watching episodes of the West Wing and Firefly. Forever.
Luckily we photograph many, many different awesome things – and when we do photograph weddings, we’re not burned out, we haven’t run out of ideas – and we’re just set to be all out Amazing and bring the Awesome. Now I know – there are lots of wedding blog posts about how it’s your day and you’re beautiful and other empowering words like that – but dammit, I’m just there to make Awesome. Fortunately, our clients hire us to do that – and they trust us enough to do comply with our crazy requests.
Like Sarah & Tetsuro. They actually live in Japan but still had their wedding here in Atlanta! The internets are crazy and amazing because Sarah was one of my few clients that was always awake with me at 3am on gchat. See all of those paper cranes? A literal 1,000. Handmade, strung up and magical. (Magical like a unicorn with laser eyes and rocket feet with ankle watches on.) (I’m writing this around 2am so that last line literally made sense when I wrote it.)
After some extreme difficulties with their original venue – Sarah & Tetsuro switched venues – the Thursday before their Saturday wedding. You know how that is possible? – With a damn good wedding coordinator/planner and other super-hero vendors like Juli! And us! And… um, the cake lady and the DJ! Yeah. (this is where Leah and Joy tell me I should stop writing these blog posts at 2:13am.)
Seriously though – we’ve had some amazing weddings in the past year – and we haven’t blogged about any of them. By my count that’s 47 weddings we have in que, just waiting to be shown to the world. So here we go. Let’s begin. This is Sarah & Tetsuro’s wedding, and They. Are. Awesome.
