We are very fortunate that we get hired to photograph a wide variety of weddings. Weddings that take place in churches, parks, art museums, and of course – farms in Iowa. Anne & Dominic first flew me out to San Francisco where they live, for their engagement session (see here). A few months later we all flew out to Iowa where Anne’s parents live. And yeah. It was all pretty, and awesome, and beautiful – and check out that BLUE SKY. And yes – the idea that someone would fly me across the country twice – just to photograph them – is kind of crazy – and amazing – and just… we definitely wanted to do a great job for Anne & Dominic. We wanted to make them some photos that we just couldn’t make anywhere else.
That’s the trick though isn’t it? Especially for us when we’re being flown all over the country to photograph weddings. Photos from a wedding in California shouldn’t look like photos from a wedding in Maine. Photos from a wedding in Boston shouldn’t look like photos from a wedding in Berkeley. Different locations, different times – and definitely different clients. Even if you use the same poses – a good photographer would know how to make the shot unique to that situation; unique to the couple.
Anne & Dominic? Amazing. Awesome. Dominating?… ah… I should’ve stopped while I was ahead.
(oh – we also flew our photobooth all the way to Iowa as well! Check out those crazy shots, here.)
