Young Blood Gallery and Boutique is the foremost independent showcase in Atlanta for emerging artists and Do-It-Yourself crafters. Young Blood was born in 1997 in the home of Maggie White and Kelly Teasley when the two grew tired of the Atlanta art gallery establishment’s refusal to exhibit incredibly talented – though unknown – local artists. The response was enormous, and for two years White and Teasley’s home exhibitions would be overrun with art-hungry patrons.

If you haven’t been to Young Blood Gallery & Boutique – you probably should. Because it’s awesome there. The other reason you should probably go sometime is because if you haven’t been there, then you haven’t eaten next door at Cafe di Sol (also awesome) AND you probably haven’t partied down in the Highland Ballroom – beneath the historic Highland Inn (where we photographed Haley’s Wedding!) See? All of that Right.Next.To.Each.Other.

I was at Young Blood on the opening night of their ‘Cycle Through’ group show of 60 artists with work relating to the theme of bicycles. I know. This post is late. The exhibit ends… on March 28th. So go. See it.

Even if you don’t see this exhibit – go to Young Blood sometime because the boutique has all the cool art/handmade stuff that other stores wish they had – and may have in small pieces – but nothing like what they have at Young Blood. And you might run into the 3 legged cat, Jolene. Serious. See.

I had a lot of fun at this event, and I ran into a few friends that I hadn’t seen in a while + the Atlanta Sedition Orchestra was playing in the 3 car parking lot! Always. Awesome.
