It’s our Three-Year today. Our first date was on the first Friday of May. We use the ‘First Friday’ as our anniversary instead of the actual date because we met up in Phoenix at the monthly event called “First Fridays” – and it’s just more fun to remember it that way.
First Fridays is the monthly ArtWalk that Phoenix has in Downtown. Art galleries open up their spaces, and other artists man tables that line the street while bands and performers fill the rest of the spaces. On this particular First Friday, we had our first date – and the short version is that it ended up being a date where Leah and I worked a volunteer table with her friends at the Make a Difference organization. Yes. Our first date ended up being a four hour volunteer project – where I was put to the test – having to not only pass her qualifications, but the initial qualifications of her core group of friends. I am happy to say that I turned it on, and I went all out. – Oh. And since this was the first time ANY of them had met me… I’m surprised they didn’t immediately throw me out for taking pictures of them like some phreak.
They basically had a table where people could come and finger paint these huge sheets of paper – there was a theme but I forget what that was – and by doing this they would simply get the word out about Make a Difference and the volunteer opportunities that they provide to those looking to save the world (or a piece of it.)
Three Years and now we have two cats and a blog.
