Millennium Gate Engagement Session – When you’re driving around Atlanta and you happen to be on your way to IKEA – you’ll probably come across this GIANT ARCH looking thing – named the Millennium Gate Museum. It’s a crazy large structure right there at one end of Atlantic Station (a multi-use retail/business/living district) and you’ll be like… wow WTF is that thing doing there?
What’s even more interesting is that it’s not only a giant arch structure for decoration. It’s a MUSEUM and you can go all inside of the building and there are rooms and museum-things to look at. It’s a history-ish museum and event venue. So yeah. You CAN get married there – they have a courtyard area and then it overlooks a lake and then on the other side it overlooks the rest of Atlanta. SO. Views. Lots of them.
Millennium Gate Engagement Session Ideas
I’ve photographed weddings inside, outside, and then of course engagement sessions as well. AND – if you don’t want your engagement session to take place at Piedmont Park like the other hundreds of people getting married (but hey that’s not a bad thing! Piedmont Park is all kinds of AWESOME!) – the Millennium Gate Museum is a good change of pace.
In fact – you’re not going to get photos of an archway like this anywhere else in Atlanta. I mean – because there isn’t an archway like this anywhere else in Atlanta. Not only that – but somehow, the sun just hits it the right way all the time and there’s always good lighting to work with. I’ve photographed couples there in all kinds of weather conditions. Rain. Sun. Cloudy. It all works. You have epic stairs, epic sky, epic shadows and then a bit of greenery to work with. Basically – your photographer (*raises hand) has a lot to work with if they know what they’re doing.
But that’s the whole thing with any location – a great photographer will work with ANY location you throw at them. Sure – maybe they’ll direct you towards locations with more options or more stuff ‘to work with’ than what you may initially suggest – but that’s their job.

Oh. Back to the Millennium Gate Engagement Session info. IDK. And then you’ll be like… YOU’RE SO RIGHT MARK! It IS an awesome location for engagement photos!
Right.
Millennium Gate Engagement Session
See. Great light. Great shadows. It’s like their shadows are kissing! See what I made there? It’s SO ARTSY. I’m such an artistic photographer. I mean – I’m such an ARTIST! OMG it’s SO TRUE.
Oh and there’s also this great bridge there too. See? A super giant archway/gate AND a great bridge to work with. Not only that – except for a other photographers doing other photo shoots there – you won’t have a lot of traffic crossing that bridge because no one except people doing photoshoots ever actually need to cross that bridge. SO. In conclusion, Millennium Gate Museum is an awesome location for engagement sessions.
