Hello!
My name is Ashley, and I’m so excited and thankful to intern with LeahAndMark! I have my expectations set high for the next 3 months, and can’t wait to learn and grow in ways I never imagined.
Just short of a year ago, I was making the big move from Tallahassee, FL to Atlanta. I’d just graduated from Florida State University (Go Noles!) with my BA in International Affairs and deeply desired to make an impact. Unfortunately, the check-in desk I worked behind didn’t provide me with the window of opportunity I’d hoped for. So I quit, and am so glad I did.
I began to revisit my heart’s deepest dreams and desires. I’d sit on my apartment’s couch, and talk with my (kind, dapper, architect) husband, Mike, about the vision we shared for our marriage and the direction we wanted our lives to go. Somewhere in the shuffle, of wanting to be a Mom, minister, and artist, I landed on photography.
It hasn’t been the easiest 3 months, but it’s been a beautiful adventure. We’ve begun our business, MAB Photographers, and have photographed weddings, engagement, and maternity sessions thus far. Our hope, however, is that our photography will become a medium to support world missions and a marketing tool to build sustainable housing where there isn’t any.
Simply put, I don’t plan on just capturing the world; I’m going to change it.
