Tonight I headed out to do some photos for a local catering and event company. Sarah and Danielle are adorable! The nice thing about working with them and their team is that they knew the exact shots that they wanted. Basically we set out to get some professional but fun head shots. They also wanted some random photos of their staff. They planned to use them on their website, facebook and marketing materials. The one thing I didn’t count on was that it is getting …read more

This post will be a little different. This post is truly coming from my heart This girl..women..person..who is she? Well it’s me. You could call this post a self portrait of sorts. When I look at these…I see a lot of things. Do you see what I see? Doubt? Worry? Stress? Do you see hope? Do you see a raging want for something? Do you see determination and sacrifice? Maybe some people don’t. I see it. Some of you reading may have applied for this …read more

3 posts in one day..I have a goal (glare) Dont judge me..yes I am ocd. Raven invited me along on this wedding. I was more then happy to go. Michael and Maru were wonderful. The wedding was perfect. Maru is an avid quilter and they did a very sweet part of their ceremony where they both added the final stitches to a quilt Maru had been working on for years with the help of her good friends. It was extremely sweet to watch her watch …read more

After the tea party shoot today I had another baby shoot. Now I have plenty of experience photographing babies..my babies. This I think was my best one so far. I think he is adorable. Lucky for me Sue (the owner of the home) Has an amazing home so we used one of the bedrooms which made for really nice backgrounds and textures. I didn’t spend much time shooting. At one point we tried to swaddle him and he wasn’t having it. I mean would …read more

If you knew me really well you would know I have a slight (cough) tendency towards OCD. I have been planning this shoot since before Leah and Mark came along. I put a lot of time into thinking of how I wanted to do it. On one hand it was just something for my daughter to do with her friends, but why not make it an opportunity for amazing photos. I spent the last few days making the labels, buying candy and cupcakes and gathering …read more

This was the shoot I have been looking for. I would live a total Rockabilly lifestyle if I could afford it. I am obsessed. The house we own in Virginia was totally retro built in 1941. We had retro touches everywhere especially in the kitchen. So as you can imagine I couldn’t wait to go to the largest antique collection Junk yard. On one hand it was apocalypticly beautiful and on the other hand I almost wanted to cry seeing all of these old classics …read more

So my daughter is going to be 12 in September. I needed some cute photos for her invitations. Now I don’t know what I was thinking taking photos of a pre-teen at 3pm during summer..in Georgia. It was hot. Really hot. She wanted something bright and colorful, so I picked up balloons. The only issues I really had with this shoot was the heat. It was hard to see if my camera was focused because 1. I was dripping with sweat. 2. everytime I …read more

I did a shoot from a neighbor I know today. It was a trade…he gave me a wonderful antique pantry for my kitchen he could have easily sold at the flea market in return for photographing his sweet grand kids..yes being a photographer sometimes has its perks..ok almost always. I realize this may not be the best photo but I still love it..imagine being the only boy in your house… with three teen sisters. His grand kids are big into ATV’s and Horses, total …read more

Did you think I ran away…I’ve been really busy. I have to say the internship would have been easier if my horde of children were still in school and not on summer vacation. Yes I said horde…a horde of children. Don’t be deceived they do bite sometimes. Especially the small one. Lucky for me the wedding was full of happy, energetic adults. Who don’t bite. I was lucky to shoot a wedding with Laura 2 weeks ago. The Bride Caroline and Groom Joel were wonderful. …read more

Thursday was a FREAKING AWESOME Photo Shoot, my favorite so far. Some how I think the forces of nature and Atlanta traffic did not want me to make it. First my sitters house ended up being farther out then I remembered and on my way to the interstate through the country I hit a puddle from the storm the night before and slid into a ditch. That alone set me back 30 minutes. Then I hit the traffic. I made it an hour late..but I …read more

I had a shoot today that started at 8am. Little Ryker had not had breakfast yet and was really hard to warm up too me. We headed to a local playground and after plying him with Ikea graham cracker cookies I finally got a few good shots of him. It was hot, he was tired and he was hungry. I was having a really hard time getting eye contact with the little guy, no matter how many cookies I gave him. I talked to his …read more

I had a shoot today of baby Tal. Now it was really hot..and I was at a bit of a loss of what to do with the little guy. This was for Sarah, the owner of the event company I shot the other day. I was also going to add in photos of the family. I was really hot, so little guy didn’t seem to dig it too much. I had been prepared to shoot indoors in their home, but we decided to head outside …read more
