Hi! I’m Krista. I’m also:

  • convinced I was born about sixty years too late.
  • up for any excuse to throw a costume party.
  • of the belief that books make you a better person.
  • most at home in New York City, though I was born & raised in Atlanta.
  • obsessed with weird reality tv, like “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding”. One of my goals in life is to photograph an Irish Traveler wedding. Hey, gypsies. Let’s make it happen.
  • currently training for my first 5K. (Ack!)

I have two silly little girls who are my reason for existence. They make me laugh and drive me crazy and remind me to slow down and enjoy the magical little moments life has to offer- like curling up on the couch together and reading “Goodnight Moon” for the hundredth time in one afternoon. I also have the Most Supportive Husband Ever. He’s cute, funny, and likes to create- only instead of photographs, he tinkers into the night on things like soapbox derby cars and homemade electric chairs in our garage. He looks like Buddy Holly and he makes me happy. He also happens to be a full foot taller than me and is totally worth the neck pain I get from smooching him.

I love to travel and sometimes have mini panic attacks at the idea that I won’t see every place on my list before I die. I’m a sucker for high heels, and Broadway show tunes but I also like [good] beer and playing video games into the night. I love the theatre [and never come late], but I also love settling in at home for marathons of “Dexter” with that tall guy I married. I’m Italian and not the least bit bothered by classic Italian stereotypes. Loud-talking, pasta-eating, wine-loving. We talk with our hands, identify with “The Godfather”, and hold family to sacred levels.

I’ve been described as a female Joe Pesci. Maybe I’m not supposed to, but I take this as a total compliment.

Photography pushes me to create. I can stare at a picture every day for hours, weeks, months- and still discover something new about it every time. I strive to create like that. I want to make photos that take you back to a place, a smell, a time… because in the end, all we have left are memories and pictures. And isn’t getting lost in a picture one of the greatest things in the world? I particularly love weddings because they’re every aspect of photography and every raw emotion you could possibly cycle through, all packaged up into one incredible day, and I get to be there to capture it. I’m inspired by Gil Elvgren, Edgar Degas, and fashion designers like Edith Head and Vivienne Westwood. And I’d love to be your photographer.
