Let me just tell you – it can be so difficult when a couple wants you to come up with the plan for their engagement session. You know those clients? “Yeah, I don’t really know what I want…. I’m flexible…I really don’t care….” Seriously? You have to care! These are your engagement pictures! This couple – NOT like that. They were perfect! They knew exactly what they wanted, the places they wanted to go, specific shots they specifically preferred. *Sigh* Thank you for making my life easier!

There is so much pressure involved when you don’t know a client really well, and then they put the pressure on you to plan out their engagement pictures which could very well land on a save the date that goes out to 500 people or a slideshow during the reception. If your pictures don’t match up to their personality, then you’re screwed. I’ve been getting really selective with my clients because I want to know that they know what types of pictures they want so that I’m not left in the dark, and we all end up happy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I would love to know some strategies that YOU use to get people out of their shell and into their photo personality. Many comments would be appreciated!
