I had a wonderful time traveling over to South Carolina with Jenna and Mark. We seriously had so much fun. I wasn’t expecting it. Not that Mark and Jenna aren’t great, because they are, but just because I really didn’t know their personalities at all. We had a ton of fun though! Ashley and Seth looked absolutely fabulous, and I can say that they definitely know how to have a good time!
What I learned from this wedding is that you just have to get in and take control of your pictures. The dance floor was intimidating, and it would have been easy for me to have stood on the outside and gazed through my viewfinder from 5 feet outside the circle. BUT I decided to just do it – I got in the middle…. no literally…. squashed in the middle of two guys doing this old school Night at the Roxbury thing with me? I am screaming, “My husband would not appreciate this very much!” I then realized that my only way out was to shoot them. Well, not with a gun, but with my flash. I got out alive, at least! Anyway – I definitely learned a lesson on shooting on the dance floor. Just go for it. Whatever you do, just go for it.
Ashley’s details were dreamy. I love vintage-inspired decorations, and this girl had it all. From picture frames, to antique books, to the luggage suitcase for cards, and even the sweet birds on the wedding cake – it was any vintage-freak’s fantasy. I have been hoping to capture a wedding like this, and lucky for me, I did! I know that she took a lot of time and effort into putting all of this together. When I asked where she bought her reception dress, she said, “I went to an antique store and paid $40 for it.” Well, friends, I can say that things can be beautiful and recession-proof.
Enjoy the wedding!
xoxo
