It’s been almost a week since I last shot anything and I could feel the cob webs starting creep in. Trying to juggle work, family life and this internship has me feeling a little ragged lately. Bottom line, I’m tired as hell and part of me wants to take a step back from everything so I could catch my breathe. Last week I took a break from it all and invested nine straight hours of watching AMC’s Breaking Bad on Netflix. It was just the …read more

We Talkin’ Bout Practice

I’ve been pestering my good friend Dan to get a chance to photograph his newly formed band. I had an opportunity this past Thursday to spend some time with Dan, Prisca, Kris and Arnold as they worked together to get their groove on and find their own identity as a group. It was their third practice session and I was thankful to be able to witness how these four tried to work through all their kinks and merge their sound into one. In order …read more
Teen Night @ The High Museum
LeahAndMark.com | Atlanta Wedding Photographers
I joked with another intern that when I was a teenager I filled most of my time playing nintendo games, mixed in with some mischievous activities. Hanging out at a museum was certainly not at the top of my list of cool things to do back then. Attending Teen Night at the High Museum this past Saturday made me wish I could relive my teen years here in Atlanta. Talk about a blow out party!! The night was filled with some amazing activities for …read more

There’s a quote from Bertrand Russell, British philosopher, that has always stuck with me – “ To fear love is to fear life, and those who fear life are already three parts dead.” The search for love is one of those quintessential longings that the human spirit always seems to engage in. Fighting through that feeling of existential loneliness can seem daunting and some of us can feel so overwhelmed by it that we start spiraling into spiritual numbness and fear, as Russell so eloquently …read more
Love Blooms Here…Wedding Day Hooray!
LeahAndMark.com | Atlanta Wedding Photographers
The entrepreneurial spirit was alive and well yesterday as over 40 vendors gathered at Ambient Studios to showcase their work to those couples searching for partnerships over their special wedding day. The vibe was kickin’ and the atmosphere was fun, especially with Zano spinning and pumping tunes into the air: This year marked the 2nd anniversary of Wedding Day Hooray, which is hosted by the Indie Craft Experience. What’s really cool is that they provide a bridal market place that’s intimate, warm and eco-friendly. …read more
Ready, set…FAIL!

We all gathered again this past Sunday to perform another photo shoot of various models that each of us booked for the day. Our assignment: just go out and shoot! I fired through four models in the first hour and a half and was ready to snap away on another group of wonderful subjects. There was one problem, my SD card FAILED! Or rather, my D7000 failed to read the SD card that was slotted in. The failure happened about 70 shots prior to when …read more

Like a number of Atlanta metro residents, I’m a transplant that’s moved down here. I was born and bred out of Long Island/Queens and I moved to Georgia from the Big Apple about 4 years ago. When I first moved down I saw the usual sites that a married man with 2 kids would see in Atlanta: The CNN center, Olympic Park, Fernbank and Lennox mall to name a few. Frankly speaking, I couldn’t help but feel a little underwhelmed by what Atlanta had to …read more
The First Time…

As the saying goes, you’ll always remember your first. I had my first photo shoot with LeahAndMark this past Friday. The excitement ran high, the heart palpitated a bit and an undeniable sense of nervousness over whether I’d be able to deliver ran through my veins. I was eager to not only start shooting, but to meet the very people that I would be working with the next three months. We started the night with introductions of both old and new members of the LeahAndMark …read more

Last week I had a great opportunity to take some photos at the Goat Farm with a friend of mine. I knew very little about this place, but was assured that I would have a good chance to snap some cool photos. I wasn’t disappointed! After about an hour of shooting, we took a break and headed to a local bar and threw back a couple of glasses of Guinness, a favorite pastime of mine. Aside from talking about our pictures, we went back and …read more

The Grand Finale

So here we are. I know, it’s been a while since my last post and unlike my fellow interns I’ve tailed off on shooting with LeahAndMark the last few weeks. I’m in the midst of launching my own business and couple that with work and family, something had to give. It’s really been an amazing three months and it’s hard to believe how fast it went by. I’ve learned so much during this internship, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg. I’m leaving this …read more
