Thursday’s kind of a boring day. You’re tired from an entire week and it’s not Friday or the weekend yet. It’s just Thursday.
Well actually that’s your Thursday not mine. My Thursday I got to go down to Fire Station 29 and hang out with six cool guys. All I can say is I like a man in uniform
About 3 minutes after we get there, the intercom goes off, “URGENT: FIRE MATTER…” While Intern Luiza and I freeze, Jo hops in the truck with the boys to go investigate the matter—Jo told me people like to wave to her when she’s riding with them—Go Jo! Turns out it was a false alarm and the “smoke” that had been spotted was actually concrete dust or something like that. Apparently it was coming out of a brick box…? Not a house or a shop but a box.
We took photos of 3 of the firefighters and then Zach cooked hotdogs and burgers for us. Despite their constant persuasion to get Luiza to eat, it didn’t work. One possible reason: she’s a vegetarian. I love my burgers but good for her. Soon after, the three other firefighters returned all fueled up (gas + US Café) and it was their turn to bring out their best stuff for the camera.
Had a run in with the police this weekend and now hanging out with the firefighters. Who’s next?
