The Number One Tip to Personalizing Your Wedding

Atlanta Wedding Photographer, Monday Night Brewing, LeahAndMark & Co.

We Make Amazing Wedding Photos for You

I know. If you’re reading this then you probably know how I write and I probably know that some of you just wanna say F*ck all the wedding decorations! No one remembers the chairs/ the flowers/ the centerpieces! I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about everything else and that.

When you start thinking about what it means to personalize your wedding – most people think about how they’re going to decorate their reception. Or make their wedding cake special and specific to them. Or what colors they should use. Or the food. Going down the list of things and seeing how they can make it more “personal”. Whatever that means.

Atlanta New Year's Eve Wedding | NYE 2017 | Wimbish House

What does it mean to personalize your wedding? Does it mean going through a catalog of things, or collection of Pinterest boards and finding the items that could mean something about the two of you? Finding the items that somehow randomly relate to what you and your partner are?

You really want to personalize your wedding? Tell your story. Share your story with all of your guests.

That’s where you begin. That’s the core of how you go about personalizing your wedding. You can pick things, colors, and decorations you like – but you should also find different ways to show your guests aspects of your relationship with each other. Your history together. Meaningful items that show where you come from, or tell how you came together – and that show your lives and adventures together up to this point. Your wedding isn’t just a celebration of this one ceremony, or day. It’s a celebration of the time you’ve spent together, the time you will spend together – and your love.

This might require some extra work that you hadn’t thought about (I’m sorry – but it’s true). You may have to sit down together and actually write out the story of YOU (you both) and go over your history together. Right from when you met, to when you broke up that first time (or 2nd, or 3rd time) to when you supported each other through the really difficult moments. And all of your successes along the way that led you to this point. Let’s be clear – beyond all the cheese and annoying wedding industry marketing – you’re making history. Your wedding is a historical moment in your lives.

No matter how cynical I might be at times – I realize how special weddings are – and I’m reminded of their importance during every. single. ceremony. Getting married is an amazing thing – the culmination of a relationship up to this point in life – and at the same time just a marker on the way to greater things. Another event to add to the story of you two.

How do you personalize your wedding? Find ways to share your story with your guests.

(and make sure your photographer takes photos of EVERYTHING.)

Affordable Wedding Photography Atlanta

Atlanta Wedding Photographer, Monday Night Brewing, LeahAndMark & Co.

I know. You’re looking for an affordable wedding photographer in Atlanta. What IS affordable? Obviously – it varies.

Now I’m not about to write an entire blog post about how you should pay photographers what they’re worth – because honestly – many photographers aren’t worth much. BOOM! SNAP! OH YEAH!

Affordable Wedding Photography Atlanta

Atlanta New Year's Eve Wedding | NYE 2017 | Wimbish House

And then there are some that are legitimately PRICELESS. In the best way. Because they’ll take care of you – and take care of things you’ll never see them doing. Whether it’s setting the pace of the day (because your planner does this a bit – but many planners are more hands off until the ceremony and reception) – or if it’s just making sure that people get the f*ck away from you. A great wedding photographer is really protective of their clients. And the energy of the room. Your energy. Especially on your wedding day.

We know that you need to be in a good mood. You need to have great energy. WE NEED YOU to have great energy. It’s not required for us to do our jobs – but it helps. So we’ll protect you.

Of course if it’s your mom that’s just totally screwing everything up – well – you’re kind of on your own with that. ha!

Right. SO. Affordable Wedding Photography or Photographers in Atlanta. That’s totally us. Totally. I mean it. You can afford us. I don’t even have to put down a price because I know that you can afford us. Why? Because THIS IS MY JOB. And I like to work. You need a wedding photographer? ME. US. Let’s DO THIS. We’re never offended by a number – we’re only offended when people don’t ask nicely. You know what I mean? Like with anything – just ask nicely.

Atlanta Wedding Photographers

Flying Caballeros Ranch, San Luis Obispo, California, Wedding, Photographer, LeahAndMark, Atlanta Wedding Photographer,

That’s it. And if you’ve been asking other photographers and they respond with a f*cked up attitude – well – really – f*ck them. Because this is your wedding and they don’t get to be there. WHATEVS.

Honestly – it’s 3:55am as I write this because I’m currently almost dead sick from a cold and I can’t sleep. So I’m blogging. Productive RIGHT?! I KNOW! Where was I?

Oh yeah. Affordable Wedding Photography Atlanta

Atlanta Wedding Photographers, LeahAndMark, Trees Atlanta, Weddings, Black, Mexican, Multi racial, Multi Cultural

Don’t mind the odd phrasing – that’s all just for SEO points with Google because they said that was a highly searched term and we all want to bow down and do whatever Google says to do right? Right. SO. How about you? And your wedding? And Us. And your Wedding Photography? We’re affordable – and you’re looking for an affordable wedding photographer. That’s US! *raises hand! Now – while I’m at it. It’s weird to me that I ended up here – a Professional Wedding Photographer. Because never would I have thought that this would be what I’M MEANT TO BE DOING. Apparently, literally – this is what I’m meant to be doing. Trust me. I’ve tried to get a different job and somehow – THIS IS IT. So. It’s a good thing that I like making BAGS FULL OF AWESOME for our wedding clients! YEAH! Hi-FIVE!

Anyways – drop us a line and let’s DO THIS THING! And hey. Thanks.

Atlanta Wedding Photography Packages

Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop,

There are SO MANY Atlanta Wedding Photography Packages.

Math-wise it’s like 3 packages per photographer x 1 billion wedding photographers.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SORT THROUGH ALL THAT? It’s okay. You don’t have to. I’ll do it for you. No, just kidding – I’m not gonna do that. But I can tell you a whole lot of information about wedding photography packages. Because over the 45 years that I’ve been a wedding photographer* – I’ve tried every wedding package imaginable. Basically – it all breaks down to this:

  • Fancy/Handmade/Artisanal package name
    • Number of Hours
    • Number of Photographers
    • Engagement Session
    • Album Included
    • Prints Included

And that’s the rundown. Seriously. That’s it. More hours, more photographers, and an engagement session.

Atlanta Wedding Photography Packages

Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop,

So. What do you want? Or rather – what do you need? I’ll tell you.

You need at least 8 hours of coverage – probably closer to 10 if you’re doing a full wedding day and you have a decent size wedding party. I know – you’re thinking EIGHT HOURS? OMG THAT’S SO LONG! But honestly – it’s not. Check out this sample timeline and watch how the day just flies by. WITH WEDDING THINGS.

SAMPLE WEDDING DAY TIMELINE (8 hours of coverage)

  • 1:00 PM                YOUR PHOTOGRAPHERS ARRIVE & BEGIN MAKING AMAZING PHOTOS
    • Your wedding photographers will photograph “details” such as the dress, shoes, jewelry, bouquet, and of course cover all of your preparation process such as getting your hair & makeup completed, and having a great and relaxing time with your bridesmaids as they get ready as well.
  • 2:00                        BRIDE GETS DRESSED
    • Now is the time to finish getting ready. Don’t worry, your photographer doesn’t have to photograph EVERY part of putting on the dress. What we like to tell brides is “We’ll be right around the corner. Go ahead and put your dress on, but the moment you feel comfortable and covered enough – but not “finished” – let us know and we’ll come in and start photographing. What is comfortable is different for everyone, some people are VERY comfortable and others want to be more covered. We leave it up to the bride to decide.
  • 3:00                        GROOM MAKES FINAL PREPARATIONS
    • It’s at this point that we’ll move over to the groom’s side of things. Since we generally don’t need or want photos of the groom and his groomsmen literally putting their pants on, we’ll arrive when they’re nearly finished getting dressed and just start photographing everything – quickly. Same as the bride’s side, we’ll capture all of the “details” and then also group photos of all of the groomsmen.
  • 3:30                        FIRST LOOK (and then bride & groom portraits)
    • You won’t have to worry about planning this at all. We’ll find the location, set the groom up in position, and then bring the bride in to surprise him. We kick everyone out of the area so it’s a private moment between the two of you… and your photographers…
  • 4:00                        WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS
    • After your first look and portrait session, we’ll bring in your wedding party to complete all of the wedding party photos with the two of you.
  • 4:30                        HIDE THE BRIDE & GROOM
    • Of course – the groom doesn’t always stay hidden and often times will walk around greeting guests – but generally this is the time for the entire wedding party to relax, get a drink, or cool off/warm up if the weather’s being crazy. Your photographers will take this time to finish photographing the ceremony site and ceremony details. They may also sneak in and photograph the reception space if it’s ready as well.
  • 5:00                        CEREMONY
    • This is where you get married!
  • 5:30                        FORMAL FAMILY PHOTOS & COCKTAIL HOUR BEGINS
    • We RUN the family formal session like we’re on a crazy mission to get them finished in record time. We do this EVERY TIME too. Literally. I don’t care if you have 100 people or 10 people for the family photos – we will GET. THEM.DONE. and then you can still get to the last part of your cocktail hour. We want you to be able to spend as much time with your guests – this is about you and not us stealing you away just for our amazing photos (well, it’s not ONLY about that…)
  • 6:00                        PHOTOGRAPHERS PHOTOGRAPH RECEPTION SPACE (before guests enter!)
  • 6:30                        RECEPTION BEGINS!
  • 6:45                        GRAND ENTRANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS & First Dance
  • 7:00                        DINNER IS SERVED
  • 7:30                        SPEECHES & TOASTS
  • 7:45                        SPECIAL DANCES (Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, etc.)
  • 8:00                       OPEN DANCING
  • 8:15                        CAKE CUTTING
  • 8:30                        BOUQUET TOSS
  • 9:00                        PHOTOGRAPHERS CONCLUDE THEIR COVERAGE

SEE. And that was JUST 8 HOURS. All those wedding things happened! You won’t even remember anything – so thankfully you hired some amazing photographers to capture it all. Right? RIGHT.

Atlanta Wedding Photographers LeahAndMark & Co.

Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop,

Now – some practical advice. I know some wedding photographers like to post ALL of their ‘options’ like it’s some kind of menu and you’re picking things ala carte. That’s them making YOU do all the work. F*ck that. Your photographer should have their uh, sh*t together and they should know what you need after you tell them your wedding ideas and plans. You know – like a Professional. Because THAT’S WHAT YOU WANT. A Professional Wedding Photographer.

Now send us a message! And LET’S DO THIS!

The Carter Center Wedding Ceremony

This is Chelsea and Walt – two ridiculously amazing people that somehow found me (actually their friend referred me and you know it’s ALWAYS nice when someone refers a client to us… because that’s just… AWESOME!)… where was I… Oh yes. Chelsea, Walt – amazing – people – their ceremony actually took place at The Carter Center and then the reception was on the roof at Ponce City Market.

I first talked to Chelsea… over a year ago – in fact we were traveling the country in our RV for two months when she and I talked. So we never actually met until a few weeks before their wedding – lots of trust with my clients because I rarely take meetings anymore and most of the deal making is thru phone calls, emails, and text (I like text cause then I can send all the crazy emojis I like 😉

But YES! Wedding! Ponce City Market! Carter Center! Let’s refocus here.

Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop, Ponce City Market, Wedding, PCM, Carter Center, Atlanta, Wedding, Photographer, Roof, Skyline, Rooftop,

Look – wedding vendors come in all… well there are many different kinds out there. Some are beginning, some are so-so and some are properly respectable. I probably fall somewhere in between all that mess and I probably slide up and down the scale – but for this one, Chelsea and Walt definitely hired proper villains. Er – I mean wedding PROFESSIONALS.

The team of wedding vendors they put together – well – we were all amazing and everything went off flawlessly… and even when it didn’t – Chelsea and Walt were super super SUPER about it all. (Because there are always hiccups on a wedding day you know.)

Ponce City Market Wedding Reception

What’s great about Ponce City Market is that it’s basically a mini-city. Seriously. So you can wander all around it and never get ALL the photos. There were photo ideas/locations I came up with that we just didn’t have time to get to – and we still covered a lot of ground! Of course – Atlanta in general is a great city for locations because it’s… endless really. Right? Wedding Photographer! (that’s just SEO junk right there – pay no attention.)

You know what else really participated that day? The weather. Ridiculously good. It got a little warm for a second – but that’s about it – we were able to get so many outside photos because there was a breeze and none of us were melting our faces off. (Always a good thing when you have people getting married you know.)

Oh yeah – and another thing about having a wedding at Ponce City Market – they have lots and lots of people to help you get around the property. I mean… you probably have to have those people (security) especially since we went through all these hidden back corridors and things that I’m sure I’d normally get arrested for going thru – and it’s always nice to not get arrested. Trust me on that. Wait. What am I talking about?

Atlanta Wedding Photographer

SO basically my job the entire day as a wedding photographer is to see photos and then capture them in my camera. Right? Right. Obviously (or not so obviously) – the more there is to work with, the easier my job is. But what there is ‘to work with’ is different for every photographer. Some photographers like… boring things. Others like interesting things. (I’m totally throwing shade.)

But now I see that I’ve hit my SEO 500 word count so let’s finish this thing.

Chelsea and Walt. You. Are. Awesome.

Shoes to think about on Your Wedding Day for PHOTOS | Vlog

When you’re thinking about your wedding day portrait session – something you may consider are your shoes. Your shoes and then also the locations your crazy photographer might make you go into for the portrait session. For example – if you’re likely to out into the woods – you should definitely bring some shoes to walk in if the actual wedding shoes aren’t good for… walking in the woods. You know – flip flops or other flats. Stuff like that – especially if you’re wearing very high heels and/or you’re not used to wearing high heels for hiking (some people are okay!)

Atlanta-Wedding-Photographer-LeahAndMark-006

Sure – you could have your partner carry you – and that works too – but you may want to clear that with them… or not. Or you could just bring extra shoes.

Because we all know some of the best photos are where things get WILD. And overgrown. And we all love those photos of people dressed all fancy in dangerous wilderness spots right? Ha. Right.

Alright! If I don’t see you on your day – have a great wedding and I’ll talk to you later!

Planning for the Groomsmen Getting Ready Photos | Vlog

When it comes to the getting ready photos for the grooms side – we honestly, truthfully… probably don’t need to be there for 3 hours. I know. This is your first time. Don’t worry it’s okay!

How much time do we need? Probably 20 minutes. Seriously. Maybe 30 minutes tops.

Atlanta-Wedding-Photographer-LeahAndMark-052

Why? Because usually they’re not spending an hour + for hair and makeup and everything else. What we like to do is just the last 20 minutes of the groom getting ready – and hopefully he’s already showered and has his pants on. And then we photography the finishing touches – putting on his tie, suspenders, jacket, all that stuff. You know – the details. Even if we’re not there WHEN IT HAPPENS. We can arrive and he can fake it. And we can shoot it – and no one really knows or remembers or cares. Right?

And then we photography the guys/grooms people hanging out and stuff – but honestly… they’re usually not doing much. Like, not much. SO yeah!

Atlanta-Wedding-Photographer-LeahAndMark-057

But really – whatevs man! We’ll photograph whatever you want us to photograph because, well – THAT’S OUR JOB.

Okay! If I don’t see you on your day, have a great wedding and I’ll talk to you later!

ONLINE Wedding Photography Internship | Interns Wanted

This is the application page for the ONLINE Photography Internship – for the real-life-in-person internship application/experience – APPLY HERE.

…..

If you don’t live ITP in the Atlanta area – you can still intern with me – through our online internship! I know – it’s amazing right? 2016 and the future is now. Online Photography Internship. WUT. Yup. Yeah. I KNOW.

OH – you’ll still be doing intern work for me – just different work than you would if you lived in Atlanta. Most of the same requirements as listed below – except you won’t get the chance to carry bags of heavy rocks. It’ll be a lot of webinars, live streaming the workshops, and you guys watching my screen while I do boring editing and watching anime in the corner of my screen.

Seriously though – if you’d like to work with me for the next two months – and learn a literal sh*t ton of photography information – let’s do this.

Application for the ONLINE Photography Internship down at the bottom – and again the In-Person Application is here.

………….

A while back we operated one of the largest photography internships in the country for three-ish years. 10+ interns every three months for several years. Because we were crazy.

It kind of went like this:

And this:

Then we stopped. We sold almost everything we owned, left town for a year and traveled.

And now we’re back.

I’m back. I’ve been through a lot. I’ve learned a lot. I’m different now and yet the best I’ve ever been.

I’m full of sugar, and nice, and STFU.

And I’m looking for some great interns to work with this summer for two months – June and July. Eight weeks of Awesome. These people will do a lot of work for me – no lie or misunderstanding about that. But I’m going to provide a ridiculous amount of knowledge for them to take from my head – and I’ll show them things that no one else really does because other people are just normal.

I am not normal.

The last few years I averaged 43 weddings per year – and one of those years I shot more than 50. Not just my company. Me. Weddings I booked – not weddings for other shooters. I generally block off three-four months of the year to go travel and not photograph any weddings at all – and I still pack in 40+ weddings a year. I don’t have a photography degree, or art degree, or design degree – but photography is my thing.

I am not normal.

And people still hire me. This is my portfolio. Real weddings with real people – not a styled shoot in the bunch.

Default Gallery Type Template

This is the default gallery type template, located in:
/home/mark/public_html/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/templates/index.php.

If you're seeing this, it's because the gallery type you selected has not provided a template of it's own.

Atlanta-Wedding-Photographer-LeahAndMark-Story-001

I’m not looking for normal photography interns. I’m looking for ones that start at ridiculous and go up from there.

This is what I’ll cover during the eight weeks:

  • Composition
  • Exposure
  • How to shoot with manual settings – faster
  • Physicality of Shooting (it’s not your camera that can’t focus – it’s probably YOU)
  • Workflow (from cards to computer to export)
  • Lightroom editing
  • Photoshop editing
  • Off-camera flash
  • Posing
  • Talking like a person who knows WTF they’re doing
  • Website (how to not have a sucky website)
  • Portfolio selection (picking photos that help book clients)
  • Wedding Day Flow (how to manage the wedding day so you’re not awful)
  • How to respond/handle client inquiries
  • Client-Meeting role play/what to say so clients don’t run away from you
  • How to get clients to sign the contract and not wait 3 months (we average 1 week)
  • How and what photography to ‘practice’ – perfect practice makes perfect. Not just practice.
  • Reception lighting
  • How to be a great 2nd shooter (too many people are awful at this)
  • Blogging (we have 1,098 posts published here – so we at least know how to… keep blogging)
  • SEO
  • Getting ranked in Google (our site has bounced around from page 1-5 depending on the search term – and many of the past interns’ sites are the same – we show up – how about your site?)
  • How to do things on social media so you’re not annoying AF, and so that a few people actually see what you post.
  • How to work harder at this photography thing than you ever have before.
  • How to be yourself and still get clients to hire you (unless you’re a creepy MF then uh, maybe go do something else and stay away from kids.)

What you will do as an intern:

  • Blog every week in your intern blog (Required. Miss one week and you’re dropped.)
  • Pinterest things for me (Required. Don’t meet the weekly quota and you’re dropped.)
  • Post everything to your own social media accounts
  • Instagram things
  • Teach me snapchat
  • Host a workshop (cause you’re all not coming to my house)
  • Watch me do boring editing things
  • Carry my bags full of rocks because I just wanted you to carry something heavy
  • Laugh at all my jokes (it means you’re paying attention)
  • Take selfies with me
  • Wear animal/monster masks
  • Probably do bad karaoke with me
  • Setup your own shoots as required
  • Maybe work a wedding with me

Interns Wanted |Atlanta Wedding Photography Internship

Aerial + Peter | Atlanta Wedding

Last fall we had about 108 weddings where rain seemed to be an imminent threat. I’ve long stopped checking the weather on my wedding days because – it doesn’t matter.

Rain or shine – I still have to make photos worth paying for – and saying ‘it rained’ is a poor excuse. No really – it is a very poor excuse for bad photos.

We always tell people that we’ll just make… different photos. Which is a nice way of saying – yeah it rained and that changed EVERYTHING about your portrait session – but that’s not a bad thing. They’ll just be different photos now. In fact – it rained several times on Aerial and Peter’s wedding day. It rained while she was getting ready, it rained during our first look, and then it rained later in the day too.

But it didn’t rain during the ceremony. Not a drop.

Sure there was a rain plan and the ceremony could’ve taken place indoors – but come on! Yeah. That wouldn’t have been the same. So here’s to dodging the rain all day – because it was definitely worth the stress of waiting until the last minute to decide and risk the rain and GO with the outdoor ceremony plan.

Excellent decision guys.

Melissa + Dan | Phoenix Wedding Preview

This was the 2nd trip back to Arizona in about 3 weeks for weddings – and just like my last one there (Brenda + Donovan) – this wedding was Awesome.

Ridiculously Awesome.

I’ve known Melissa since she was… twelve – and it was really, really great to see all of her family and basically hangout with everyone – except with the pressure to not f*ck up the wedding photographs. I mean sure – since it’s my job that pressure is always there but you know – it’s different when it’s your friends or family!

Thankfully – Melissa and Dan, and the Arizona sky made everything ridiculously easy.

This Post is About Wedding Portrait Sessions and The Photographer

So. With weddings – we take all of them seriously. Like SERIOUS serious – but really – I mean really – the couples portrait session is the part where it’s ALL. ON. ME.

Whether I have an hour or 7 minutes. It’s all on me.

Every other moment during the day is generally out of my hands – and I’m just a great photographer documenting what’s going on.

But during the portrait session – I’m the boss. It’s the portion of the day where the photos are most in my control. I’ve always told anyone that I’ve worked with (interns, 2nd shooters, assistants) – that the portrait session is where I really earn my pay. Because I shape the photos and do more to influence those photos during the portrait session than any other time of the wedding day. The couple stands where I say to stand, they literally do what I say – and it’s my job to make them feel good about it, lead them into different compositions, confuse them just enough to get them out of their heads, make them laugh enough to trust me – and still end up with a set of amazing photos.

Of course at this point I have tricks.

I have a workflow, a pattern or series of photos that I’ll run through – safe amazing and brilliant shots that I can count on – so that I’m able to stay relaxed and enable the inspiration to arrive. Or surprises. Because some of my best photos are all surprises these days. But you can’t and shouldn’t count on being ‘inspired’ when you photograph weddings for a living. It’s my JOB.

Oh yeah. One more thing. Go for the Epic Photos. Sure you need to make the modern/traditional portraits – but always aim to make the Epic Photos as well. What are those?

I suppose I’m not completely sure.

Wedding Workshop Series

You might be like me. You’ve been a wedding photographer for a few months, or years even – but you still don’t feel like you know what the f*ck you’re doing. Why doesn’t anyone respond to your emails? Why don’t they book you? Why are they booking someone else?! You’re a little frustrated and things would be a lot easier if someone would sit down with you, and make it… a little easier. If you just had the answers to a few questions – maybe, just maybe – being a ‘wedding photographer’ would stop being a hobby.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 presetAtlanta Photographer School

I’m Mark – a full time wedding photographer and I book roughly 93.5% of my inquiries. I photographed 53 weddings last year but usually only shoot about 35 weddings annually.

I can help you learn more about wedding photography than you probably ever wanted to know (at least from my warped perspective.)

Portfolio. Instagram. Facebook.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset Processed with VSCOcam with a5 preset Processed with VSCOcam with a5 preset

With a lot of help I also operated one of the largest photography internships in the country (but got too busy and stopped a few years ago.)

Now I’m offering a Wedding Photography Business Workshop Series.

I know – it’s not exactly a catchy name. WPBWS doesn’t really roll off the tongue either. Aw F*ck it.

Here’s the pitch.

I believe I’m the best photographer for my clients on their wedding day – and they believe it as well.

I am not the best wedding photographer of all time, ever – but I am the best wedding photographer for my clients, on that day. Period.

I couldn’t continue to do this if I didn’t believe that.

Also – these workshops are completely free to you.

Here are the workshops:

  • What Your F*cken Wedding Photography Website Should Say, Be, and Do
    • This is about your MARKETING. (How and why I get away with using f*ck all over my wedding website)
    • Your Website’s ONLY job is to get people to contact you. That’s all.
    • It doesn’t do any selling – that’s YOUR JOB.
    • I’ll go over every part – your bio, your pricing page, your blog posts, your portfolio
  • How to Book Wedding Clients.
    • How to respond to initial inquiries so people actually respond
    • How to lower your closing window down to 2 weeks or less.
    • How to talk to people like people and not like they’re $$$
    • Why no one emails you back
    • How to get them to email you back
    • How and Why I went from closing 25% of the time to 93.5% of the time.
  • How to Run The Wedding Day Like. A. Boss.
    • How to look like you know WTF you’re doing.
    • Simple but dangerous mistakes to avoid
    • What you should expect
    • How to handle EVERYTHING
    • All the things you don’t know.
    • How to get F*cken amazing shots NO MATTER WHAT.
    • How to get F*cken amazing shots NO MATTER WHAT. (repeated on purpose)

If you’re interested in any (or all!) of these workshops – please fill out the form below. I’d absolutely love to work with you.

And hey. Thank you very much. It’s a big compliment that you would even consider learning with me.

The dates are subject to my schedule (hey I’m still working) and will take place between now and the end of December.

Oh. And remember – any and all of these workshops are completely free – but limited to 5 people only for each workshop.
