The Social Goat Wedding Venue Weddings

The Social Goat, Wedding Venue, Atlanta, Grant Park, Small, Affordable, Bed & Breakfast

We recently photographed a wedding at the Social Goat Bed & Breakfast and you know what? It was kind of amazing. No really – amazing. And comfortable. And relaxed. And exactly the way the couple wanted their wedding to be. What else is that I had no idea the Social Goat even existed until recently – and I literally lived just around the corner from it. It’s just south of Grant Park (and by just South I don’t mean like the next town south, I mean I think it still counts as being IN the Grant Park neighborhood.)

The Social Goat Atlanta Wedding Venue

Right. The Social Goat is a large house that serves as a bed & breakfast and also has a large ceremony space in the backyard. Perfect for a backyard wedding if you don’t have friends with decent backyards, or you don’t have one of your own. Cool huh?

And it’s just nestled in Grant Park and easy. Oh and plenty of room for you to get ready, and your wedding party to get ready, and your guests to have fun. Oh and not only that – but the grounds are well kept with a bit of quirk and uniqueness – so your photographer will have plenty to work with. And you’ll look amazing in your photos. Trust us. You will!

Lauren + Dean | Engagement Session

Engagement Sessions!

Honesty – I don’t do the hard sell on engagement sessions. Some people want them. Some people don’t want them. Whatevs man.

Truth is though – you don’t have to look at it as an ENGAGEMENT SESSION. I tell everyone that you should just think of it as… a portrait session with just the two of you. The thing is that other than your thousands of professional photos on your wedding day – you won’t have any other professional photos of the two of you. They’ll all be selfies. Or from photobooths at other people’s weddings. You know it’s true.

So since you’re already hiring a wedding photographer – it’s a really simple thing to throw in an engagement session and get more photos of the two of you looking good. Because come on – it’s kind of weird for couples to be like… let’s get some professional photos of us for no reason.

Of course – you don’t need a reason. Other photographers will tell you that you should do it for you and how much your love yourself or… whatever.

This is Lauren and Dean. They’re engaged to get married. So we took some photos. We went all over the place. Grant Park. Jackson St. Bridge. and then Ponce City Market. Lots and lots of photos and lots of me bossing them around. Hold hands. Kiss. Makeout. Actively kiss. Stand there. Hipster hand hold. Etc.

Hey Lauren and Dean – thanks.

When ideas come to life | by +Krisandra

As a creative, I am always trying to push the limits of my ideas. I have notebooks with sketches, words, print cut outs. I collect wedding magazines. I have notes on my phone, images saved. I have tons of Pinterest boards. I have IDEAS. But, it’s one thing to have ideas and quite another to have those ideas come to life. It isn’t easy (at least for me). It takes planning, timing, confidence, but mostly it takes me.

Planning my FIRST styled photo shoot was probably almost as stressful as planning a wedding! Months and months and some more months went into this shoot. I had to find a stylist. I had to find a hair and makeup artist. I had to find the location. And I had to coordinate all this on one day that worked for everyone involved, even Mother Nature, for my ideal shoot. I had to make sure my ideas of what I wanted showed and do this in front of fellow photographer and friend, Philitha, all the way down from CT.

From the very first wedding I second shot back in 2006 I have been stuck in awe of the bride on her wedding day. I have yet to photograph a wedding where the bride didn’t make me at least teary eyed at some point during the day.
