I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that we’ve recently been traveling all over the country to photograph some absolutely spectacular weddings.
And today we get to show off Liz & Cristina and their wedding that took place this past weekend in Miami, Florida!
+Raven and I arrived in Miami on Friday and we met up with the couple for lunch. Hey Cuban food I love you! Oh – AND it was especially great to FINALLY Meet Liz and Cristina. Seriously – they booked us almost two years ago back when we had only photographed two weddings. I have to admit that it was kind of… a new and scary thing to commit to photographing a wedding almost two years away. I mean, when they signed the contract and sent us the deposit, we had only photographed TWO weddings.
Luckily, I’m ridiculous and thought to myself ‘hey, whatever, let’s DO THIS.’
So. I hope you look at these photos and notice a few things. Notice their dresses (of course), their boots, their BACON earrings, their epic church, the HENNA, the JUNGLE backyard – but most importantly – the Love.
Liz and Cristina spent their entire wedding day together. Obviously this is different from the normal ‘not seeing each other until the ceremony’ – but for Liz and Cristina it was the best choice and it fit them perfectly. With no one except for me and Raven hanging out with them (they didn’t have a wedding party following them around) it honestly felt like they were experiencing ALL of their wedding day, together. I’m probably not conveying this correctly – but hopefully you get the idea as you look through these photos from start to finish.
We’ve only had one other couple that got dressed together on their wedding day [Lauren & JD] and while it’s not necessarily better, it definitely makes for a different day, a different feeling. Especially on what can be such a hectic and crazy and stressful day – to be able to spend ALL OF IT with your spouse – I don’t know why more couples don’t do it that way.
As anyone who’s ever gotten married knows, it’s easy to feel like your wedding is for everyone except you and your spouse. So take a moment and see how Liz & Cristina spent their wedding day together, with each other, and really made it a day just for the two of them.
Thank you Liz & Cristina for having us. You. Are. Awesome.
