Hope you don’t mind the wedding photographer chiming in. Both options are really cool and I love the dress either way. I personally like it without the stitching. I will also say that I have never seen anything like the stitching on the front so it would be really unique if you went that direction. However, I like how the dress looks elegant without the stitching. I’m sure it’s hard to decide.

i love the stitching. i think the dress is definitely lacking personality without it. i also am not a big fan of strapless… it just looks weird to me, especially during weddings. but if you want it, i’m sure that it looks good on you.
the stitching stays!
think about bringing it down some too… to the right of your hip, perhaps. i think if you make it less localized, it will be even more interesting and not like, a ball of string just at the front.

Leah, go with the second dress. I don’t think the stitching on the first one is very aesthetic. And if this offends you, then I think you know which dress you like the best!

Dear Leah. OK. I think the stitching looks really nice, and add a little extra something to the dress. Also, you will appreciate the extra element of colour when it comes to other stuff – like jewellery (think – you could get quite funky with amber rather than the traditional razzle dazzle of diamontes etc), matching tie or shirt for Mark, funky shoes to peep from beneath.. etc etc etc.

Personally, I think that your umming and ahhing about the stitching is perhaps because you like it, but it’s quite bold… In that case, is there an option for a different (softer) colour? If you could go with a colour that doesn’t stand out as much, it might make you feel more comfortable?

But, this advice is coming from someone who bought her dress of eBay for $80… so take me with a grain ‘o’ salt

Hi, just a fellow Atlanta blogger. I agree with Lauren S. Not to compare your wedding dress to a mullet, but without the stitching it will be business up front, party in the back. Appropriate for those timeless, classic wedding portraits, and really funky when you take a twirl on the dance floor. The ribbons and the hem are a gorgeous color!

Wait… people seem to be debating the sash (bows) in the back, but unless I’m misunderstanding the post, that’s not what the question is. The question is about the stitching on the front, am I right? The sash isn’t up for debate. As for the stitching, I agree with the others… I say no. I think the contrasting sash and hem are enough.

Hi I am one of Marks school friends from Arizona so I don’t know if my opinion will be of any help but I think if the stiiching was a lighter/softer color then go for it. You don’t want it to take away from you. When you walk down the isle people first see your beautiful face then look at the dress and as one comment said the back is amazing!

I think the dress is really SIMPLE and elegant, but the stiching adds a little extra spark. The sash is a bit thick and not MY personal favorite color, but I’m guessing the colors go with your choices and may not be the same as the pictures!!!

The sash by itself will be out of place and not balanced with the rest of the dress unless you add something else (large necklace or somethin’) in the front. I’m not sure about the texture of the stiching though as it seems too plain and perhaps why you have doubts??? Why do you have doubts?

Maybe if it had jewels (like those crystals often used) it could enhance the elegant factor and bring the dress up to par as a wedding dress and not just a party dress. I’m not sure if that’s what you would like however, as you may really like the fact that it is so danty and plain. Afterall, the best factor of dressing up the dress is YOU.

So go with your gut and you will look beautiful no matter what as you are the BRIDE!!!!

I love love love the sash, don’t love the stitching so much. I think you can get some really cool photos – some that are very classic and timeless with the plain front like Elisha said, you walk down the aisle and then BOOM! Awesome back detail. So you get some photos that are like nice and traditional and then some that are modern and fun and soooo Leah and Mark.com

Love the splash of color.. I guess it really depends on the style of your wedding? The top one with the embroidery is more modern and artsy and the bottom one of more romantic and classic. I like both, but I prefer the bottom… I tend to prefer romantic more. What’s nice about that one is that the back of your dress has a surprise, since people will be staring at your back during the ceremony.

I will say that I LOVE the sash…and I think the sash could be the ‘ooh ahh’ factor in the dress. Imagine yourself walking down the aisle, nobody seeing the back…and then you get to the front of the crowd and everyone can see the sash, and they all go “oooh…ahhh”. Yeah? I’d personally go without the stitching, and if you are having any doubts that might be a good indicator that you don’t want really deep down inside want it.
Love the dress though….the color is really pretty!
